FORMATION OF VINEGAR (ETHANOIC ACID):

- Microbial oxidation of Ethanol occurs when a bottle of wine is opened, causing bacteria in the air (Acetobacter) to use atmospheric Oxygen to oxidise Ethanol into a weak solution of Vinegar (Ethanoic acid):
Ethanol + Oxygen → Ethanoic Acid + Water
